We originally found the tractor in southern California with 4 spun rod bearings and missing all of the sheet metal. It ran but knocked badly. About 2 weeks later we found another O-4 with all of the sheet metal. Because we had already started the engine rebuilding process, we decided to just use that engine. We did the restoration in "steps". The first step being engine+transmission and all of the mechanical restoration. The second step was bodywork and paint and the final step was fit and finish.
