In the past 11 months I have been working through the restoration of my 1948 Allis Chalmers WC. I was given the tractor to restore through the JB Dewar Tractor Restoration Education Program and completed the project while overcoming many setbacks. It was originally part of the Madonna Construction fleet and drew my attention from the very beginning. This tractor came to me with a seized motor, internal damage to the differential and final drive and plenty of external wear and tear. Though the model maybe close to the famous WD, parts were scarce and difficult to locate. In this restoration, I wanted to know and touch every aspect of this tractor beginning with a complete engine rebuild, (new block due to multiple irreparable cracks in the original) all new bearings, new third member for differential, and all new sheet metal and tank. To finish it off, I painted this tractor with the original PPG Persian #1 Orange, new AC stickers and an original Madonna Construction logo.
